THANK YOU TO ALL MY BLOG FRIENDS!

Geiranger Fjord with the waterfalls "Seven Sisters" and the farm Skageflaa to the left.
I will use the last days, before I'm admitted to the Radium Hospital in Oslo on Monday, to thank all of you wonderful blog friends who have written email and comments on my blog, filled with warm words and thoughts. You've all shown that you have a big heart and concern!
The doctors have found that I have cancer in two places and that I have two different types of cancer.
Within the last few weeks there have been many medical examinations, tests and a minor operation. Tuesday is the time for starting the big strength test - a big operation that lasts for 4-5 hours, and 30 radiation treatments and six treatments with chemotherapy within 6 weeks.
It is a lie to say that I am not afraid - of losing my hair, my appetite, and much more, and also for the coming months.
I am fortunately a positive person and all my life I have been a fighter, which I intend to continue to be! This disease should not get me on my knee - I will fight and I'm going to win!
Aurora Borealis in Norway
I want to thank each and every one of you with pictures from my homeland. Maybe the pictures can tempt you to an experience in the country far to the north with midnight sun, northern lights and the world's most beautiful scenery - whether it should be, you will always be welcome in my home! You who live here in Norway, are most welcome to Stavern!
I will soon be back on the blog and look forward to "see" you all again!
Many warm greetings and thanks from Lene
The Pulpit Rock (Prekestolen) in Lysefjorden.
Lofoten islands in the north of Norway
I want sweet Marsha in Houston, United States to have a picture of the winter landscape in Hemsedal in Norway. First and foremost to show her how beautiful it is, but also because I think that she rarely experiences snow in Texas.
Marsha, who writes the blog Splenderosa Gems and Glamour, has sent me many nice comments and thoughtful email, which I am deeply grateful for! Like all good thoughts from my blog friends, I'm sure your blowing big kiss with 1000 angels are helping me - thanks for your sweet consideration Marsha!
Talented and lovely Greet in Belgium is wildly enthusiastic about Sweden, so this picture from the island Lyngør, which has been voted the best preserved village in Norway, a tribute to her. I will show you Greet, that we in Norway have locations that are fully in line with the Swedish archipelago.
Greet writes the wonderful blog Belgian Pearls, where you can find tons of inspiration. She is a decorator and together with her brother, she run a family owned business of cabinetmakers, for the fourth generation. Greet lives with her family a fantastic beautiful castles in Waregem northwest of Brussels. Thank you for your many nice comments and warm words Greet!
Desiree from Amsterdam writes one of my favorite blogs, Vosges Paris. She has a wonderful blog where you'll find a mix of French, Holland and Scandinavian interiors. I assign her this beautiful picture from my home county Telemark in Norway. Thanks for your greetings Desiree!
Tusen takk for dine varme tanker Mette!
Cecilia, who writes the wonderful interior blog Desde my Ventana, lives in Madrid. Because her main interest is art, I assign her this beautiful picture from the Geiranger Fjord. The fjord is one of Norway's most visited tourist sites with hundreds of thousands of tourists: Queens, kings, emperors, painters, cruise passengers from all over the world, car tourists, adventure seekers .... all have found that the Geiranger fjord is a masterpiece of nature, and the term "the world's most beautiful fjord" is not an exaggeration. Geiranger Fjord has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, jointly with Nærøyfjord, since 2005
I can see that your blog has been under heavy development Cecilia - it's been incredibly nice. Thanks for your sweet words and warm thoughts!
Tusen takk for dine varme tanker Kari!
Monika, who writes one of my favorite blogs, Splendid Willow, are born in Sweden but lives in Seattle, U.S.  She is a highly skilled interior designer with a penchant for Swedish interiors, and, as she calls herself, a design junkie.
I want to show Monika the amazing Aurora Borealis from her beloved Scandinavia - not from her mother country Sweden, but from my mother country Norway. When the northern lights flame across the sky, you have a very special experience and magical atmosphere. I am sure that Monika, like me, would love to see the northern lights from a heated lavvu as in the picture. Thank you for your good intuition and positive energy Monika!
Sweet and creative Charlotta calls herself a Swedish nomad who has lived and worked in many parts of the world. Today she lives in Sidney with her family, and works as artist, designer and interior stylist for children. Charlotta writes the wonderful blog Space for Inspiration
I want to dedicate Charlotta this picture from somewhere, that in spite of her many stay around the world, I am almost certain that she has not yet experienced.  The Pulpit Rock or Prekestolen in the county of Rogaland, is 604 meters straight down. 40,000 people experience this mountain shelf each year. A legend says, that the Pulpit Rock is falling into the sea, the same day as seven sisters marries seven brothers from the same area. Picture number three from above show the same mountain shelf. Thank you Charlotta, for you encouragement on your blog and nice comments on my blog!
Nona live in the Netherlands, but are originally from Finland. She tells herself that she is a dreamer and a romantic optimist who loves white and to photograph. Nona writes the blog The Spirit of Abundance, where she conjures with his creative abilities.
Because she dreaming of living in a beautiful villa surrounded by beautiful nature, and would like it to be a true heaven of harmony, I will dedicate her this picture, showing the Norwegian nature's perfect harmony. The glacier in the background is Briksdalsbreen. Thank you for the Sunshine Award Nona!
Patrycja, who writes the blog Lovely Home, comes from Poland. Patrycja gives us a great impression of the Polish interior design and other design, food and many other things.
With this picture, I will show a bit of Norway to Patrycja. In the summer it is never night in northern Norway - The Land of the Midnight Sun! Every year there are 100 days without night north of the Arctic Circle! Here you can see the midnight sun from the middle of June to the end of July. Many thanks for your wonderful poem Patrycja!
Tusen takk for din hyggelige hilsner Tove!
Le Ann from California, writes the blog Linen & Lavender, which is one of my absolute favorite blogs. Le Ann is professional, has a confident sense of style and a fabulous taste, her blog is one of the few that I do not get enough of.
I want Le Ann to have a picture from my favorite holiday island Lyngør, located south of Norway. Lyngør have no cars, road access is done by boat. The settlement consists of old tree-houses spread over four islands with only 90 residents. The island community have a shop, post office, bakery and elementary school. There are also restaurants, hotels and and a lighthouse you can rent in summer.
A big thank you Le Ann, for you healing energy and your grandmothers prayer!
Her utfolder hun seg med alle sine gjøremål innenfor innredning, håndarbeide, mat, have,  reiser og "sjefen over alle sjefer" (hunden).
There is so many more blog friends I want to thank's for the lovely words and warm thoughts - the words to each and every one of you has meant so much to me!
The image here is from the Old Town in Fredrikstad.  My biggest dream is to live and work in this beautiful old Fortress Town within the water burial that goes all the way around the old town.
The Old Town in Fredrikstad with its unique town-like within the well-preserved fortifications from the 1660s make it to northern Europe's best preserved fortress.

Even though you are ill and facing uncertainly, you remain elegant, and what you wrote to me touched me deeply. I will never forget as long as I live. And, I love the photo you sent me because, as you said, it never looks like this in Texas. Keep shining, darling Lene &

The Spirit of Abundance sa...

Dear Lene,

Thank you for your lovely words and the beautiful picture you so sweetly dedicated to me!! I'm quite speechless and very touched, for both that and also for your entire post. Simply amazing!!

For some reason, I today just had the feeling I should check out your blog, and yes indeed, the feeling turned out to be more than just a feeling :).... Due to some personal stuff going on in my life right now I haven´t had the energy or time to check out any blogs lately or do much about my own, however, I must add, what ever it is I'm going through has no comparison what so ever to what you're going through, and I'm sending you lots of LOVE, LIGHT and HEALING POSITIVE ENERGY AND TOUGHTS on a non-stop basis!!!

I would whole heartedly like to recommend a book to you, which is an amazing one by Louise L. Hay called ''You Can Heal Your Life'', maybe you already are familiar with it. I know it's available in most languages so you could even get it in Norwegian. I just got it for a friend of mine who recently got prognoced with ovarian cancer. This Louise is a remarkable lady who herself was prognosed with terminal cancer, and who by changing her way of thinking (among other things), againt all odds completely cured herself. Incase you don't mind reading in English, I would love to get it for you :). Just let me know if you'd like that, and it would be a priviledge to get it for you!

I wish you lots of strength the coming period! My thoughts are with you dear Lene!!!

xx Nona

It is evident that your giving spirit -the love you have sent out to others- is coming back to you now with healing energy and support from all over the world.

Know that I have devoted time to you in my daily meditation and it is there that I will visit you each day with a big hug and all my best wishes.~LeAnn

ps. This is the most moving and beautiful post I have ever read.
Some of your photos of fjords and mountains are very like New Zealand scenery.

Lene,
I found you today through Fabulously French and while I haven't visited before, I will be doing so from now on. Please know that even if we have never "met" there is someone here in Seattle, Washington, on the other side of the planet, thinking of you and sending you warm, positive thoughts.
Much love,
xx

Lene,

I come to you from Rebecca's blog as well and am so glad to have found your beautiful site. I will follow for sure. I will also keep you in my prayers as you continue on this journey. My mom has been diagnosed with two primary cancers in the past two years and it amazes me how strong she remains despite how it has completely changed her life forever (surgeries, radiation, etc.) You and she seem similar in your resolve and courage. I will keep you in my thoughts.

Dear Lene,
I am knocking on your door after visiting Rebecca at Ancanthus and Acorn. I hope you don't mind the intrusion while you are recovering, but I so wanted to add my prayers and wishes to the others laid at your doorstep. I can see that you have a beautiful heart as your blog is just lovely! You left an enormous GIFT with this last post. I love meeting new blogging neighbors and this post is just full of new people ~ and places ~ to visit. How thoughtfully extraordinary you are! I am almost half Norwegian but have not been to Norway, yet. I am very inspired to do so after seeing all of the images that you have captured, here. And if you are representative of Norway's daughters, then it is a special place, indeed! May you recover in the knowledge that there are prayers and thoughts of sweet Lene being offered up throughout the world. xx P&H

Dear Lene,
I came over from Fabulously French after seeing Leeanns post.
I don't know you and you don't know me but, I am thinking of you and sending love and positive thoughts your way. Positive mental attitude is a wonderful thing and, I think, a healing thing and you seem to have bags of it. I wish you a successful time over the coming months and look forward to seeing you back here soon.
Your images are so beautiful and I want to be seeing lots more so, hurry back. Lots of love Jackie. XXXX
